Camping Trip

Well.... we had an "adventurous" camping trip last month... involving a hail storm, a leaky tent, a bicycle injury, a burned shoe and vomit in the tent at 3AM... so we said to ourselves, "That was fun... let's do it again!!" No really, we got Clint a new (bigger, non-puked in) tent for his birthday and we decided to take advantage of the beautiful spring weather and try this camping thing once again! We went out on Friday, and our friends, the Riveras joined us on Saturday. We went to Granger Lake in Taylor, and it was just beautiful... the weather was perfect for camping and the scenery was amazing. It was such a great weekend.... wonderful to be reminded of how blessed we are... and how great is our God...

I sent Cason to the car for time out at one point and came to check on him. I found him sitting in there reading his Bible.... sounds like this time out was a success!

Camping-revisited

A while back I posted our family pictures from our camping trip... well here are a few more pics from the fun weekend....

Daddy's got more help than a man could ask for... even Jingles is in on the fun! The tent is "his thing" so I just continued to unload the food and get everything set up while he pitched the tent with the boys... it took some serious patience, but I am pretty sure everyone had a "job" to "help" with!

Sweet Micah LOVES everything about camping and he likes to be right in the middle of it all... from pitching the tent to starting the fires and sleeping on the ground in a warm sleeping bag... he loves it all!

Coby is not as big of a fan of all the "outdoorsy" stuff, but he was a good helper, too! He told me his favorite part was snuggling in mommy and daddy's sleeping bags in the morning when it was cold!

Cason did a good job taking good care of Jingles on his first camping trip with his new family. He rarely barks at home, but he barked at everyone (and everything) that passed by... it was annoying... he is so tiny but he would get so worked up... we nicknamed him "Killer" :o)

I changed this pic to sepia color because everything was so dry and dead looking... kinda sad! That helped us to be thankful for the rain even though it hit while we were trying to load up to go home... has anyone ever tried to put a tent away in the RAIN?! We actually kinda wadded it up and pitched it again in the front yard we got home to dry it out. Yes, our neighbors love us.

Here is the Rock-Throwing CREW. You can see the evidence of the drought by how low the lake was... There were trees sticking up everywhere!

It was COLD... but it was FUN!

The high was only 65 and the low was 42.

But the rain held off til this morning.

It was way too cold for a shower, so by day 3, we were lathering up in smelly lotion & extra deoderant, and pigtails were my only option. :o)

A shower never felt as good as the one I took today!

I will post some more pics of the trip, but for now, here is how we felt by the end of the camping trip.....

So we got a little carried away with the silly pics... it is the boys favorite part of me making them pose for pictures... so we set the self timer and went crazy. There are many more. These were just a few favorites. :o)
